Hi everyone!
I've been getting a ton of new readers and subscribers! Hello and thank you to all of you, new and old! Something I've seen pop up a lot is whether or not I have other works as dark, or less dark, than Between the Devil and the Sea, so to answer that, I thought it would be fun to make a post. This way, it'll always be here for you to pop back in on, or for future readers who have that same question and can't decide which of my books they should read next!
For the sake of keeping this list relatively manageable, I'm only focusing on my MM Sci-Fi books (for the record though, Abandoned Things, my urban fantasy, is probably a three). Please be aware that all of these books do have trigger warnings, even if I've marked them low on this list, so be sure to check those on their Amazon pages prior to purchasing just in case. That being said, the lower numbers are going to stand for less darkness, while the higher numbers will be for books with more dark elements.
Let's start from low and make our way up!
A Sea of Endless Light: 1
This one is probably the least dark of all my Sci-Fi. If you're looking for a male lead who won't take advantage of his partner but is still devilish in the bedroom, this one is for you.
Fox Axford is an Intergalactic Space Detective who's been tasked with finding and arresting a thief. When a sulky captain is forced to work with him on the case, Fox will do anything to win him over and solve the mystery. He's pretty big on having his cake and eating it too.
Fox also happens to be my all-time favorite character. But don't, like, tell the others. Especially not Apollo or Odin.
A Bright Celestial Sea: 2
My first MM Sci-Fi, the one that launched this shift in my career (not to be dramatic). This one is a bit darker than A Sea of Endless Light in the sense that Wystan is...possessive. He sometimes throws his weight around and likes to see Pryor squirm. He isn't controlling, however, and respects Pryor for who he is.
Pryor Oro is an Intergalactic Police Detective sent to the worldship Olympus to find a missing Royal. The Emperor of the ship, Wystan, acts familiarly with him right from the start, even though Pryor is pretty sure they've never met before. When his secret is revealed and his carefully constructed walls come crumbling down, with the Emperor stand with him, or against him?
His Dark Paradox: 3
This book is written under my pen name, but since it was recently released and I announced that already, I figured I'd include it. It also happens to take place in the same galaxy as Between the Devil and the Sea, and my upcoming DARK (like level 5, guys) book. Echo.
Silver Rien is the Emperor and CEO on the planet Ignite, and he's wanted his secretary for years. When it becomes apparent Nuri is going to quit and leave him, Silver will stop at nothing to force him to remain at his side, including coercion and blackmail.
There's dubcon in this one, and Silver is manipulative and controlling.
A Whisper in the Dark Trilogy: 4
I'm going to refer to all three books for this one, so just be aware that the darkness levels and content in each fluctuate. To make it easier, books one and two have dubcon, torture, kidnapping, and captivity. Book three has noncon (not all the way, but serious sexual assault), and kidnapping. All three books have violence.
Odin Snow is the Dominus of the Brumal Mafia and the King of the Red Light District on the planet Sanctum. Ten years ago, he was shot by a man he trusted and had practically everything stolen from him. Now he's out for revenge, starting with Hunter Thorn.
This book contains a species referred to as Shouts and Whispers that are similar to the Alpha Omega setup--but still very different.
Between the Devil and the Sea: 5
...Yup. I'm not going to list everything because...it's a lot, but please be sure to check out the Author's Note at the beginning of this book before you decide to purchase and read. It's...just yeah.
Shadow Yor is an Intergalactic Space Detective tasked will solving a case involving brutal murders. He's got some serious low self-esteem issues that he hides from the people around him, which is why he almost can't believe it when he catches the attention of a friendly and well-liked reporter named Apollo. But Apollo has secrets of his own, and he may be just what Shade is looking for, in more ways than one.
This is the darkest thing I have ever written, and I'm so happy people seem to be liking it!
Which is why...I'm writing more stories in this style! Since it's coming out next month and the preorder is already available, I'm going to include my next release on this list. I'll also be doing a sort of cover reveal through it, but there will be an official one on my Instagram soon!
Echo: 5
Technically, this is still in the works, but I can tell you it's going to be DARK. Please refer to the inside of the book and the Author's Note when it's finally made available before opting to read. Some, but not all, elements in this one are noncon, dubcon, stalking, and control.
Baikal Void is one of the Devils of Vitality, and the prince of the Vitality Brumal. He's in his senior year at the prestigious Vail University and will soon be taking over his father's position in the mafia. Then the sensual and lonely Rabbit Trace catches his attention, and suddenly there's something more important to obtain than a crown. Whether Rabbit likes it or not, he's been marked by a devil, and devils only know how to play dirty.
You can find direct links to all of the books on this list in the Books section of this website! Or you can simply head to Amazon where they're available in ebook, paperback, and KU!
I hope this is helpful for all of you who keep wanting to know if there's anything lighter or darker on my backlist for you to read! I'm super curious to know which on this list is your favorite!
